Deliverability Breakdown
Understanding Email Verification Architecture & Gmail Technical Nuances
How DNS lookups, MX records, syntax rules, and alias patterns keep your sender score clean.
Standard `@gmail.com` usernames must be 6 to 30 characters long and contain only letters, numbers, and periods. Gmail ignores periods in usernames (e.g. j.oh.n@gmail.com matches john@gmail.com) and supports plus alias tags (user+tag@gmail.com).
Before sending mail, the engine issues DNS over HTTPS queries to verify if the receiving domain has active Mail Exchange (MX) records. Google Workspace domains use aspmx.l.google.com or smtp-in.l.google.com servers.
Role accounts (admin@, support@) and throwaway temporary mail services (tempmail, mailinator) trigger high bounce rates or spam complaints. The engine calculates a Deliverability Quality Score (0 - 100%) for each record.
